All you need to know about our first re-opening phase

Here's everything you need to know about FFC's first re-opening phase:

New Service Times:

Beginning August 2, service times will be 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to allow for our Health Team to complete a thorough sanitization of the building between services.

Live Streaming / Watch Online:

All services will still be available to join via Live Stream or Facebook Live

Full services are available to watch on demand on Facebook

Sermons will be posted to watch on demand on Youtube

Building Open/Closed Times:

The church building doors will be closed and locked until 15 minutes before each service. If you arrive before that time, feel free to wait outside while practicing at least 6’ of social distancing or you can also wait from the comfort of your vehicle. In accordance with Illinois guidelines, we are limited to 100 people in the Auditorium and 100 people in the Zone. There will be special accommodations in the Zone for families with young children (see “Family Environment” information below). Admittance in both venues will be on a first come, first serve basis. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot accommodate reserved or saved seats.

The entire building will close immediately after each service to allow ample time for the Health Team to complete their cleaning procedures. Once service has concluded, we ask that everyone please exit the building while allowing as much physical distancing as possible.

Include Some Food For Another Dude:

The Streetlights food pantry is running nearly empty. There will be bins as you enter where you can drop off non-perishable / canned goods to help feed families in East Saint Louis. Any type of food will help, but these items are almost completely out: jelly, canned fruit, mac & cheese, pasta sauce, “Helper” meals, rice, and cereal.

Face Masks Required:

We will be complying with Illinois Department of Public Health requirements that everyone over the age of 2 who can medically tolerate a face covering over their nose and mouth must wear one inside of the church building. If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical or personal reasons, we invite you to be part of the services online until our state has reached a phase that does not require masks at public gatherings.

Touchless Service:

We will be continuing our practice of designated ushers to open the outside doors before and after each service. Handshakes and hugs will be replaced with waves and smiles. You can be part of tithes and offerings online, and if you prefer to give through cash or check, there will be envelopes in each chairback and designated receptacles as you exit. When communion is celebrated on the third Sunday, we will be providing individually wrapped elements.

To accommodate physical distancing and minimize the number of surfaces that are touched, the Gathering Place, Bookstore, and Coffee Bar will be closed during this phase. Water fountains will also be unavailable, so we encourage everyone to bring their own drinks.

Auditorium Seating:

We will be seating every other row in the Auditorium. You can choose from any section of seats, but we will be asking all guests to keep at least 3 empty chairs between guests of individual households.

Family Environment in The Zone:

Parents of young children will find special accommodation in The Zone. We will provide activity packets for your kids to enjoy during the service. There will be sections of seats already separated with the exact number of seats to match the number of people in your family. You will also find ample room between rows. If your family needs even more freedom, we will have areas where you can set up your own chairs or blankets to sit as a family. There will also be a changing table in the women’s restroom in the Zone. Because the Zone will have a designated exit, we recommend parking in the East Parking Lot.

Children’s Ministry:

Every Sunday will be Family Sunday during this first reopening phase! We are excited to feature a segment that your kids will love during each service. Activity packets will also be available in the Zone for kids to enjoy during the service. There will be a changing table in the women’s restroom in the Zone. Kidztown classrooms and the Nursing Mothers Room will be closed during this phase to accommodate physical distancing.

Activ8 (Middle School):

Immediately following worship in both services, 6-8th grade students will have the option to head to their own service in the East Foyer. There will be games, fun, and a special message from the FFC Youth team.

All restrooms will be available for use while the building is open.
